7 things to do this August in Windsor

Aug 16, 2023Aug 16, 2023

As much as it pains me I want to remind everyone August is upon us, which means peak fire is here. But before you panic and get stressed please remember most of us have been through this and have learned to be prepared.

I’m going to share with you some of the things I have to remain prepared. We have our go box in the living room off to the side. It’s there if we need to grab and go. My go-box includes: a blanket, sweatshirt, sweat pants, some underwear, toothbrush and paste and several masks. It also includes copies of my important documents including my CDL, passport, Global Access card and bank information. Additionally I have scanned them so they are in a file called. “Important Stuff,” so it’s on the cloud and accessible on my iPhone.

I also have a box for our cat that includes litter in a Ziplock bag, wet and dry cat food and a cat litter scoop.

I’m a geek so I always have portable batteries for my devices. I love the GoPak power bank. It has its own charging cables (so you do not need to bring any) and it plays well with all kinds of devices. It also have a MagSafe so you can just lay your phone on it to charge. I especially like the indicator light that shows how much power it has left. I also have one in my car. It helps me lessen my stress about my phone not having enough battery life. If this interests you check it out at https://gopakofficial.com.

Last but not least I have an EVACUATION sign on TOP of my go box. The reason is because If I put it in the box this sign will end up in my car. I want to put it on my front door when leaving so the police or fire will know we are eventuated. If you do not have one you can get one at the Windsor Police/Sheriff office.
